About the Event
Author, artist, and curator, Kris McDermet is an award-winning rug hooker and braider. Inspired by her garden, her woodside labyrinth, her life in Vermont and her world travels, she creates unique art pieces out of wool and silk. Her hand-dyed wool and silk pieces have been displayed in exhibits throughout the US, and she has been the recipient of many distinguished awards for her artistry. Lead author of the book, Combining Rug Hooking and Braiding, Kris recently curated an exhibit of Contemporary Braided Art Rugs that travelled from Ohio to Vermont to Pennsylvania. She will share her artistic journey and her studio space at this online event (free to VF Guild members; $5 for guests). Proceeds benefit the VF Scholarship Fund to braid conferences.
