Who We Are

       The Valley Forge Rug Braiding Guild is a non-profit 501(c)3 online group devoted to sharing the skills and beauty of rug braiding!

 

       Although we began in 2007 as rug braiders getting together in person in Eastern Pennsylvania, the pandemic changed all that!  We now are primarily an online group, with our meetings and events and classes hosted over Zoom.  

   

       The exception to our online meetings is the yearly rug braiding conference:  our conference is an in-person event in Easton, PA.  The next one is March 30 - April 2, 2023.

      The online focus has created new opportunities for getting together:  braiders in distant locations can take classes with instructors; our special event speakers can give presentations over Zoom from the far reaches of North America, and our Zoom guild meetings still host a vibrant (and always entertaining) Show and Tell.

     Our 160 members hail from 25 states and 2 countries.  Our guild officers are from Washington, California, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. We are committed to educating interested braiders wherever they may live on the planet (as long as they have an internet connection!) and helping them to further their artistry and skill in the techniques of Rug Braiding.
